The consultation runs for 6 weeks starting on Friday 9 May, ending at 23.59 on Sunday 22 June 2025.
London Plan
Produced by the Mayor of London, the London Plan is a blueprint for development and growth in London. It includes policies on key issues such as new homes, workplaces, public transport and open spaces.
It is a legal requirement for the Mayor to produce an up to date Plan every 5 years, but the Plan needs to look beyond this timeframe. The next London Plan will look forward to 2050.
This consultation seeks views to inform the drafting of the next London Plan.
Call for Evidence
The Call for Evidence has also been open since December 2021. You are welcome to submit evidence that could include:
- Published reports, research, case studies or other information which might help us understand how London should change or develop in the future.
- Personal accounts of how development, buildings, places, spaces and planning affect different communities, especially impacts that relate to age, disability, sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, marital status or pregnancy and maternity. This may include personal accounts of how people from different groups experience places very differently and the experiences of those who identify with more than one of these characteristics.
- International or national examples of best practice
- Suggestions for how engagement through this process can reach a more diverse range of Londoners.
This will also close on Sunday 22 June 2025. No further evidence will be accepted after this time so we can review while preparing the next draft London Plan.
Online Events
We’re running the following online events as part of the consultation:
- Tuesday 13 May 2025: 9.30am – 10.30am
- Thursday 29 May 2025: 5.00pm – 6.00pm
- Friday 6 June 2025: 12.00pm – 1.00pm
These hour-long online sessions will provide an opportunity to gain understanding of the content in the consultation document and ask any questions.
Online events are open to all and suitable for interest groups, public campaign groups, developers, landowners, agents and Londoners to ask questions and find out more. We are holding three online events, you only need to attend one as they are the same briefing.

Next steps
Following this consultation, comments will be reviewed and help inform a draft London Plan, which will be published in 2026.
